According to latest survey by PERC (Political and Economic risk Consultancy) with a score of 7.21 ( Zero is the best possible score!)on corruption index. This makes our country the 4th most corrupt nation in Asia behind Indonesia, Thailand and Combodia. Australia, USA, Hong Kong and Singapore were found to be least corrupt.

So, we all know corruption sweeps across almost all the countries of Asia and such  high rank of our country in this list though ignomou, comes as a no surprise. Kick backs, bribery, tax evasion and unfair government contracts are the hall mark of our country’s economy. Thousands of crores of money is stashed in tax heavens, mostly by politicians and beuracrats.  Barring some deceptive promises of bringing this money back no one even bothers to talk about this issue.  Why?

Because number one they get vote without it, two, each and every political party and most of their leaders are neck deep in this mess that if corruption is wiped out from India, they will become paupers. So who would like to do that.

Taking advantage of  ‘Gifts’ clause in saving Income tax, politicians are declaring crores and crores. Not a single politician has gone to jail on this issue. While a common business man has to face wrath of the officials on even small mistakes. So while the murderers are roaming not only scott free, but being made KOTWAAL’, the small timethieves are being hanged.

Our Prime Minister Mr Manmohan Singh talks about wiping out poverty in 10 years but is silent about wiping out corruption even in 100 years.

Hey !!! Hai Koi ? !! jo brashtachaar mita sake?!! Hai Koi? !! Koi Nahi !!

Its said in a true democracy its the people who set the agenda, but if here in India taking advantage of illitrecy and divisions on lines of caste and religion, the politicians set their own vested agenda, then we the people are responsible.

Here comes the role of  so called intelligentia. Lets raise the noise, make corruption the central issue. because if corruption is wiped out, many many problems of india will be solved.

But How? Thats the million dollar question.
